Chinese bamboo tree is one of the most remarkable plants on the earth. Once the gardener plants the seed, he will see nothing but a single shoot coming out of the bulb- for five full years. That tiny shoot , however , must have daily food and water. During all the time, the gardener is caring for the plant, the exterior shoot will grow less than an inch.
At the end of 5 years, however the Chinese bamboo will perform an incredible feat. It will grow an amazing ninety feet tall in only ninety days!
David’s impatience is reflected in verse 5 where he says to God, “Come quickly…Lord do not delay”. ( V.5) Dr. Larry Dossey , a Dallas internist coined term “Hurry Sickness” to describe this problem. He believes that people suffering from Hurry Sickness die before their time. Dr.Dossey mentions many physical ailments – ulcers, high blood pressure, tension headaches, high cholesterol and lowered resistance to disease. The eventual payoff is heart attack.
Whenever God delays in answering our prayers, putting us on hold, keep in mind three Spiritual, Biblical Truths:
a) God is the Author of Time: You are not the creator. Time only exists because God Almighty created it. Trust Him who knows how to manage it perfectly.
b) God makes no mistakes: Our times in His Hands (Psalm 31:15) He knows when to do things and how to do things in your life. He has done everything beautiful in His Time ( Ecc 3:11). He will meet us at the point of our need.
c) God knows more than you : Trust in God’s omniscience. He is in control of your life.Your life is moving according to His clock and calendar. He knows your needs. He knows when you need too. Is 46:10 says,”Declaring the end from the beginning and the ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand and I will do all my good pleasure”
God never starts anything without finishing it.
God bless you.
Yours in Christ,
