•  John.3:16: 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

• 5:6-8: 6 For when we were still without strength, [a]in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

The Cross of Christ Reveals God’s Redemption

• Colossians.1:12-14:12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and [a]conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption [b]through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
• 12. ஒளியிலுள்ள பரிசுத்தவான்களுடைய சுதந்தரத்தில் பங்கடைவதற்கு, நம்மைத் தகுதியுள்ளவர்களாக்கினவரும்,13. இருளின் அதிகாரத்தினின்று நம்மை விடுதலையாக்கி, தமது அன்பின் குமாரனுடைய ராஜ்யத்திற்கு உட்படுத்தினவருமாயிருக்கிற பிதாவை ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கிறோம்.14. • Hebrews.9:12: 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
• 12. வெள்ளாட்டுக்கடா, இளங்காளை இவைகளுடைய இரத்தத்தினாலே அல்ல, தம்முடைய சொந்த இரத்தத்தினாலும் ஒரேதரம் மகா பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்திலே பிரவேசித்து, நித்திய மீட்பை உண்டுபண்ணினார்.

The Cross of Christ Reveals God’s Forgiveness

• Hebrews.9:22,28 22 And according to the law almost all things are [h]purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no [i]remission.28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
• 22. நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி கொஞ்சங்குறைய எல்லாம் இரத்தத்தினாலே சுத்திகரிக்கப்படும்; இரத்தஞ்சிந்துதலில்லாமல் மன்னிப்பு உண்டாகாது.28. கிறிஸ்துவும் அநேகருடைய பாவங்களைச் சுமந்து தீர்க்கும்படிக்கு ஒரேதரம் பலியிடப்பட்டு, தமக்காகக் காத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறவர்களுக்கு இரட்சிப்பை அருளும்படி இரண்டாந்தரம் பாவமில்லாமல் தரிசனமாவார்.
• 13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the [i]handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
• 13. உங்கள் பாவங்களினாலேயும், உங்கள் மாம்ச விருத்தசேதனமில்லாமையினாலேயும் மரித்தவர்களாயிருந்த உங்களையும் அவரோடேகூட உயிர்ப்பித்து, அக்கிரமங்களெல்லாவற்றையும் உங்களுக்கு மன்னித்து;14. நமக்கு எதிரிடையாகவும் கட்டளைகளால் நமக்கு விரோதமாகவும் இருந்த கையெழுத்தைக் குலைத்து, அதை நடுவிலிராதபடிக்கு எடுத்து, சிலுவையின்மேல் ஆணியடித்து

The Cross of Christ Reveals God’s Freedom

• 6:18,22: 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit [a]to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
• 18. பாவத்தினின்று நீங்கள் விடுதலையாக்கப்பட்டு, நீதிக்கு அடிமைகளானீர்கள்.22. இப்பொழுது நீங்கள் பாவத்தினின்று விடுதலையாக்கப்பட்டு, தேவனுக்கு அடிமைகளானதினால், பரிசுத்தமாகுதல் உங்களுக்குக் கிடைக்கும் பலன், முடிவோ நித்தியஜீவன்.
• Stand[a] fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
• 1. ஆனபடியினாலே, நீங்கள் மறுபடியும் அடிமைத்தனத்தின் நுகத்துக்குட்படாமல், கிறிஸ்து நமக்கு உண்டாக்கின சுயாதீன நிலைமையிலே நிலைகொண்டிருங்கள்
• 1 Corinthians.7:22-24:22 For he who is called in the Lord while a slave is the Lord’s freedman. Likewise he who is called while free is Christ’s slave. 23 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men. 24 Brethren, let each one remain with God in that state in which he was called.
• 22. கர்த்தருக்குள் அழைக்கப்பட்ட அடிமையானவன் கர்த்தருடைய சுயாதீனனாயிருக்கிறான்; அப்படியே அழைக்கப்பட்ட சுயாதீனன் கிறிஸ்துவினுடைய அடிமையாயிருக்கிறான்.23. நீங்கள் கிரயத்துக்குக் கொள்ளப்பட்டீர்கள்; மனுஷருக்கு அடிமைகளாகாதிருங்கள்.24. சகோதரரே, அவனவன் தான் அழைக்கப்பட்ட நிலைமையிலே தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக நிலைத்திருக்கக்கடவன்.

The Cross of Christ Reveals God’s Justification

• 3:24-26:24 being justified [g]freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a [h]propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
• 24. இலவசமாய் அவருடைய கிருபையினாலே கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவிலுள்ள மீட்பைக்கொண்டு நீதிமான்களாக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்;25. தேவன் பொறுமையாயிருந்த முற்காலத்தில் நடந்த பாவங்களைத் தாம் பொறுத்துக்கொண்டதைக்குறித்துத் தம்முடைய நீதியைக் காண்பிக்கும்பொருட்டாகவும், தாம் நீதியுள்ளவரும், இயேசுவினிடத்தில் விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிறவனை நீதிமானாக்குகிறவருமாய் விளங்கும்படி, இக்காலத்திலே தமது நீதியைக் காண்பிக்கும்பொருட்டாகவும்,26. கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவினுடைய இரத்தத்தைப்பற்றும் விசுவாசத்தினாலே பலிக்கும் கிருபாதார பலியாக அவரையே ஏற்படுத்தினார்.
• 1 Corinthians.6:11:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were [a]sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
• 11. உங்களில் சிலர் இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களாயிருந்தீர்கள்; ஆயினும் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவின் நாமத்தினாலும், நமது தேவனுடைய ஆவியினாலும் கழுவப்பட்டீர்கள், பரிசுத்தமாக்கப்பட்டீர்கள், நீதிமான்களாக்கப்பட்டீர்கள்.
• 21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died [a]in vain.”
• 21. நான் தேவனுடைய கிருபையை விருதாவாக்குகிறதில்லை; நீதியானது நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினாலே வருமானால், கிறிஸ்து மரித்தது வீணாயிருக்குமே.

The Cross of Christ Reveals God’s Reconciliation

•  10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
• 10. நாம் தேவனுக்குச் சத்துருக்களாயிருக்கையில், அவருடைய குமாரனின் மரணத்தினாலே அவருடனே ஒப்புரவாக்கப்பட்டோமானால், ஒப்புரவாக்கப்பட்டபின் நாம் அவருடைய ஜீவனாலே இரட்சிக்கப்படுவது அதிக நிச்சயமாமே.
• Colossians. 1:19-20: 19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
• 19. சகல பரிபூரணமும் அவருக்குள்ளே வாசமாயிருக்கவும்,20. அவர் சிலுவையில் சிந்தின இரத்தத்தினாலே சமாதானத்தை உண்டாக்கி, பூலோகத்திலுள்ளவைகள் பரலோகத்திலுள்ளவைகள் யாவையும் அவர் மூலமாய்த் தமக்கு ஒப்புரவாக்கிக்கொள்ளவும் அவருக்குப் பிரியமாயிற்று.
• Ephesians. 2:14-16:14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.
• 14. எப்படியெனில், அவரே நம்முடைய சமாதான காரணராகி, இருதிறத்தாரையும் ஒன்றாக்கி, பகையாக நின்ற பிரிவினையாகிய நடுச்சுவரைத் தகர்த்து,15. சட்டதிட்டங்களாகிய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தைத் தம்முடைய மாம்சத்தினாலே ஒழித்து, இருதிறத்தாரையும் தமக்குள்ளாக ஒரே புதிய மனுஷனாகச் சிருஷ்டித்து, இப்படிச் சமாதானம்பண்ணி,16. பகையைச் சிலுவையினால் கொன்று, அதினாலே இருதிறத்தாரையும் ஒரே சரீரமாக தேவனுக்கு ஒப்புரவாக்கினார்.

The Cross of Christ Reveals God’s Victorious Life

• Colossians.2:14-15: 14 having wiped out the [i]handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
• 14. நமக்கு எதிரிடையாகவும் கட்டளைகளால் நமக்கு விரோதமாகவும் இருந்த கையெழுத்தைக் குலைத்து, அதை நடுவிலிராதபடிக்கு எடுத்து, சிலுவையின்மேல் ஆணியடித்து;15. துரைத்தனங்களையும் அதிகாரங்களையும் உரிந்துகொண்டு, வெளியரங்கமான கோலமாக்கி, அவைகளின்மேல் சிலுவையிலே வெற்றிசிறந்தார்.
• Hebrews.2:14-15: 14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
• 14. ஆதலால், பிள்ளைகள் மாம்சத்தையும் இரத்தத்தையும் உடையவர்களாயிருக்க, அவரும் அவர்களைப்போல மாம்சத்தையும் இரத்தத்தையும் உடையவரானார்; மரணத்துக்கு அதிகாரியாகிய பிசாசானவனைத் தமது மரணத்தினாலே அழிக்கும்படிக்கும்,15. ஜீவகாலமெல்லாமரணபயத்தினாலே அடிமைத்தனத்திற்குள்ளானவர்கள் யாவரையும் விடுதலைபண்ணும்படிக்கும் அப்படியானார்.
• Romans.16:20:20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
• 20. சமாதானத்தின் தேவன் சீக்கிரமாய்ச் சாத்தானை உங்கள் கால்களின் கீழே நசுக்கிப்போடுவார். நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினுடைய கிருபை உங்களுடனேகூட இருப்பதாக. ஆமென்.

Reflection

• When you think about God’s love revealed on the cross, how do you respond to it and in what ways God’s love influence or shape your life?
• God redeems us through the cross of Christ. Are you saved? If so, how does your redeemed life differ from the life before you were saved?
• God has granted forgiveness through the cross of Christ for our past, present and future. How does God’s forgiveness make you respond to God for his wonderful gift? In what ways, do you express your response to God for forgiveness? How does this gift of God make sense in your daily life?
• God sets us free from any bondage such as Satan, Sin and Law to live as Christ’s people. What are the bondages God set you free in your life and what are the bondages you have and what do you do with them when you reflect on the cross of Christ?
• We are justified as righteous people ( that means right standing/relationship with God) by grace through faith in Christ. In what ways do you experience this justification as righteous people in your life? What is the role of works in the justified life as justification is purely by grace.
• Through the cross, Christ reconciled between heaven and earth (vertically) and people and people (horizontally). How do you understand this reconciliation in your life and how does it affect your relationship with God and others? If God gives us the ministry of reconciliation vertically and horizontally, what are the areas in the body of Christ to be dealt with reconciliation? What are the challenges of reconciliation?
• Christ was victorious over Satan, Sin and Death through his cross. Do you believe that God has given this victory to you over these darknesses? If so, how do you practice God’s power over Satan, Sin and Death in your daily life? In what ways, do you have struggles to be victorious over Satan, Sin and Death?
