Don’t Give up
Dear In Christ Washington Church Family,
Last month, I reminded our church family through my sermon series, “Know Your Ministry,” focusing on the qualities of leadership within the church. One of our members thoughtfully reminded me that Jesus is the head of our church, and we, though fallible, are chosen to serve with truth, character, and compassion. This is a powerful reminder that, although our roles and responsibilities differ, Jesus remains Lord over our church.
As we enter September, let us be encouraged by this verse:
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.(Galatians 6:9).
Despite the challenges we may face in our relationships within the church, let us persevere and continue to enrich our fellowship.
Our children have returned to schools, colleges, and universities for a new academic year. We pray for their spiritual, intellectual, and emotional well-being. As all our ministries resume this month, let us focus on the opportunities ahead. The Bible study will begin on the first Wednesday of September with the theme “Relationship Matters.” Christian education for children, teens, and young people also resumes with great commitment and enthusiasm. Our prayer ministries continue as usual, and our Men, Women, Love in Action, and 250 Vision ministries move forward with enthusiasm. Please continue to pray for all these ministries.
We are blessed to welcome three new families who have connected with our church through our website, Facebook, and YouTube channels. Let us pray for and warmly welcome everyone God brings to our congregation. The vision of 250 Families and One Church remains our goal, and we will continue to work together to achieve it.
Above all, I am honored and humbled to serve alongside each of you as we fulfill our mission of influencing people to find and follow Jesus. We are the church—empowered by God to become the people He calls us to be.
In Christ,
Rev. Dr. Devadosan Sugirtharaj
