Believe to See God’s Glory
Dear Members of the In Christ Washington Church,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. As we continue our journey together, I am reminded of God’s faithfulness in all circumstances. Even when the future seems uncertain, our Lord guides us through. Just as Peter stepped out onto the water toward Jesus, he became afraid when he saw the wind and waves and began to sink. Yet, when he cried out, “Lord, save me, ” Jesus reached out his hand and lifted him up.
In the same way, when we face unpredictable or overwhelming situations and our own strength fails, we can call out to the Lord. He is compassionate, ever ready to rescue us. This month’s promise, from John 11:40, says: “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”இயேசு அவளை நோக்கி: நீ விசுவாசித்தால் தேவனுடைய மகிமையைக் காண்பாய் என்று நான் உனக்குச் சொல்லவில்லையா என்றார்.
Our congregation has shown remarkable resilience during these challenging times. Though the days may be stressful, I am encouraged by the stories of how you continue to care for one another. Our Sunday services in September were truly uplifting, and I urge every family to attend regularly, bringing your children, teens, and youth to participate in Christian education classes. We are continuing our Bible study series on the topic of “Relationships Matter.” If you missed last month, please join us this month. We also have various prayer ministries each week—please take part in these as well.
On October 4th, we will hold a Men’s Retreat, and on Sunday, October 5th, we will celebrate a confirmation service for Carolyne Edward, including Holy Communion. Brother Finney Premkumar will share God’s word at both the Men’s Retreat and the Sunday service. Bring your friends and family to be inspired by his preaching.
Preparations for our Harvest Festival are underway. I encourage you to participate enthusiastically this year. Please prepare your special dishes and help by purchasing raffle tickets to support our church building and mission. Invite your colleagues, friends, neighbors, and families to pre-order food and buy raffle tickets. Please keep the organizing team in your prayers, trusting that we will see God’s mighty hand at work in this ministry.
I continue to visit families and individuals for prayer and counseling upon request. It is a blessing to pray with you and witness God’s work in our midst. Our church may be small, but it is growing, and everyone is encouraged to participate in ministry and worship for the health of our church community.
May God dwell in your hearts through faith, that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have the strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Amen.
Blessings,
Rev. Dr. Devadosan Sugirtharaj.
