Loving Jesus is Our Life
To be alive is to live the love of Jesus. As Christians, our heartbeat is love. The church cannot thrive unless it loves. As God’s people, we are called to live out the love of Jesus in every aspect of our lives.
Throughout January, we focused on living the love of Jesus. From the very first day of the year, we worshipped the Lord together. Our meditations on the Supremacy of Jesus, as found in the letter to the Hebrews, have been enriching, and this theme continues into February. Remember: sermons become even more meaningful when we take time to reflect on them after each Sunday. On Covenant Sunday, we dedicated ourselves afresh to the Lord. Each ministry has started anew with fresh leadership—Men’s Fellowship, Early Morning Prayer, Fasting Prayer, All-Night Prayer, Intercessory Prayer, Women’s Fellowship, and Ezra Prayer. Choir, Sunday school, Teens, and Youth ministries continue as usual. We are still seeking a volunteer leader for the Esther Prayer group; if you are interested in leading, please contact me.
God is good, and we trust Him for the vision He has given us. The promise for February is from
Habakkuk 2:3: For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.
God works in His perfect time, and His vision is true. We must discipline ourselves to wait patiently. The vision God has given our church—250 families and a new church building—will come to pass as we remain faithful in prayer and trust.
February is a significant month. We celebrate our Church Anniversary, begin the Lent season, and anticipate many other blessings. February 18th is Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of our 40-day Lenten fasting and prayer period. Each day, you will receive a prayer point with a promise. We will also collect sacrificial Lent offerings for our Love in Action fund, and we will have a Friday Lent devotion online. I am excited for all that God will do through our ministries this month. Please participate wholeheartedly in all services, programs, and ministries.
God is with you. To live is to love Jesus. Let us love the Lord with all our soul, mind, heart, and strength. Let’s focus on the ways we are alive—on how we Live the Love—and on how God is at work in and through us. Let’s commit ourselves to God and to one another, remaining devoted to living in love. This involves showing up to be fed and nourished by God in worship and fellowship so that His love can flow through us.
